Kia Niro

Pros

• Both the Kona and Niro are really great cars, and if your wife wants to get one I can't really see any reasons why you shouldn't lease one.
• he ended up with a used Niro which is sort of a sibling or cousin - it was 3 years old and cheap.
• Buy brand new, discounted and at 0% APR from this list. Niro, Rogue, Taos, etc.
• If you want something more reliable with less problems take a look at Honda Hr-v, Mazda CX-30, Toyota C-HR, Kia Niro, Hyundai Kona, etc.
• we bought a 2022 Niro at the beginning of this year to replace hubby's dead car. I dont drive it but hubby and adult kid do. They have no complaints

Cons

• Niro is kinda slow charging unfortunately but you'll be fine.
• As I understand it, the consensus is it’s an underwhelming car new at $50k (usd), but it’s kind of an attractive deal at $20-25k for a ‘23 or ‘24. The biggest issue is charging speed
• A Niro or Leaf would radically change the logistics vs a longer range / faster charging car.
• An alternative wouldn't be the Renault 5, but more the 4. Or a Kona/Niro, or even ID.3
• Even if there is a 50kw charger every 50ft I wouldn't take a niro on a road trip. thats a commuter class car, it doesn't have decent fast charging. glorified leaf, like a bolt.
