Pros

  • I'm 80kg with gear and 44 boot, a Jones rep recommended a 154 for me. Has turned out great, it's my favorite board. Plenty of float in the pow, great in trees and in the moguls. It's a do-it-all board for the most part.
  • Mine's the 2025 ME, which is a camber board. The older models were rocker I think. Fun is always being able to make the moves you want to, when the bumps just start connecting.
  • But the most fun I'm having is the Jones Mind Expander, so much fun in the moguls, floats well in the pow, great in the trees and everywhere else. For the ease and speed, the ME deserves a good look.
  • In my opinion it's the ultimate Japow board because it's so floaty and fast in the super light often low angle pow. I'm 160lbs and have the 1st year version in 154 and I can't count the times it's had me effortlessly cruising by the homi...
  • I currently ride the 150 Jones mind expander and love the shape and size a lot but had a feeling by the end of my first season I'd like something slightly stiffer.

Cons

  • I will say the Mind Expander is way less rad when the pow gets tracked out.
  • I have a Mind Expander and have rode the mountain twin a few times. They compliment each other well but there’s a little overlap.

I also ride a Jones Mind Expander. The earlier generation with early rise rocker into flat camber profile. If you’re looking to build a quiver, a pow board is awesome.

Between the ME and excavator, the ME will be more of a chill ride.
