Pros

  • John Wick is absolutely worth it.
  • (Also, I would certainly recommend John Wick for some good action movies)
  • It's straight out of the likes of The Raid or John Wick.
  • Watched that scene again last night. The "Baba Yaga" myth was perfect for describing Wick's character. It was also intercut with Wick digging up his past in his basement. The audience gets all they need to understand the motive and skill...
  • All of the introduction to the real John via the mob in *John Wick*. Especially Vigo's speech to his son.

Cons

  • But John wick was underwhelming (some rain and bullets) so imagine if you saw JW at an atmos cinema you would be underwhelmed
  • I was feeling franchise fatigue from John Wick after part four. It felt over.

Watched that scene again last night. The "Baba Yaga" myth was perfect for describing Wick's character. It was also intercut with Wick digging up his past in his basement. The audience gets all they need to understand the motive and skills. The scene trades off between exposition and narration. Very slick work.

You can see that in the first John Wick film: mooks with beards get killed, freshly shaved mooks gets killed later.

I watched John Wick (never had seen it, completely ridiculous, but entertaining)
