I did check the palisade and its sister telluride too but the base variant doesn't look too exciting , and it makes less sense to upgrade to go to a higher variant

I can't find any source of Tellurides/Palisades having that issue widespread. Only a few bits of anecdotal evidence from owners of older vehicles about their engines having issues, issues which can be mitigated by following a better maintenance schedule.
The Palisade was on my radar, however starting price is at 197k.

Another option is the new Hyundai Palisade, which is absolutely LOADED for the price. ... Inside and out, it's basically a baby Range Rover. It's got a properly good engine as well, the 3.5l V6 they use is very good.
