GIMP

Pros

• gimp for rare cases when I want to do some composite photos
• GIMP is a great Free and Open Source photo editor which is almost like using Photoshop
• I would highly suggest GIMP here. It has its learning curve, but you should be able to do most things with it that you can also do with Adobes Photoshop (but I am no professional). Also it is broadly used in private and also industry.
• I was hoping these programs would be like GIMP which I can use no worries instead of PS as its just a little more work
• When I do need one the GIMP works well. The newest version is a big improvement over v2 and you can easily modify the UI and keyboard shortcuts to behave more like PS.

Cons

• GIMP and Affinity Photo are not Lightroom replacements.
• Gimp is free and like Affinity can do some raw processing but works best as just a Photoshop equivalent. I'm not a fan of its user experience but I've used it on and off for over 20 years now and it does the job well enough.
• I converted to DPP from GIMP, because GIMP was more work than I wanted it too
• Gimp is another free image editing software more akin to photoshop. Last I checked it didn't have native Raw support but there were free plugins that have the same functionality.
• Avoid gimp at any cost as a plague it is.
