Pros
- Have you considered a high end cruise like explora? Cruises are such a common place to be a solo traveler, and there’s a high end and controlled environment- also a chance to spend a little more time with someone rather than someone who...
- If you are there to do all the crazy long hikes everyday in the national park, then Explora definitely has the better location.
- Explora also has their own observatory for stargazing, Awasi does not.
- If you want to be out and about and get the most out of the destination / do the big hikes, etc.. I would do Exolora. Awasi is about an hour outside the park in Patagonia, Explora is a boat ride away from most of the trailheads. Location...
- This is a truly special experience. Explora’s location in Torres del Paine is unbeatable. If it’s your first time visiting Patagonia, this is where you want to stay.
Cons
- As a reminder, Explora is an expedition company first that has unique, eco-lodges - not a luxury hotel that's full of amenities. The focus is on the guides and explorations. The lodges are in the luxury category (some are nicer than othe...
- Parent context: Any plans to expand Awasi into Bolivia (for Uyuni Salt Flats). Only option for now seems to be Explora. Reply: Uyuni is super interesting and we have a robust but intentional pipeline for new developments which will soon...

As a reminder, Explora is an expedition company first that has unique, eco-lodges - not a luxury hotel that's full of amenities. The focus is on the guides and explorations. The lodges are in the luxury category (some are nicer than others) but not the most luxurious option in some of these destinations. That said, the guides are the best in the biz, they really make exploring each of these destinations such a cool experience.
