If your biggest priority is a genuinely low-stress stay, I’d also look at Excellence Playa Mujeres. Most of their restaurants don't require reservations, and I think it’s a better fit for the relaxed, high-quality experience you're describing.

We have been multiple times to Finest PM with our son and have been to EPM and ERC. Excellence uses Seasons for transportation and every time has been great.

EPM is an AMAZING resort, and I would recommend just spending the whole time there. Do a spa day, enjoy the pools and beaches.

A few that come to mind are Excellence Playa Mujeres, TRS Coral, Secrets brand...there are many that could work!

I’ve been to Excellence Playa Mujeres on an adults only trip which was obv expensive but amazing and the food was great.

We have been to Excellence Playa Mujeres as well as the new Coral and love them both too.

For a relaxing 60th birthday trip, Id look at excellence paya mujeres or secrets akumal. Both have great food, good drinks, and a much calmer vibe than the party resorts.

If you’re aiming for high mid tier, look at places like Excellence Playa Mujeres (adults only), Finest Playa Mujeres (family), or Secrets properties. They’re not ultra luxury, but feel upscale enough with good food, nice rooms, and solid service.
