Edward Green

Pros

• many of the European dress shoe makers make wider MTOs (e.g. TLB Mallorca, Carmina on some lasts, Edward Green, ...)
• i'd easily pick EG over cucinelli here. like even just looking at the side-by-side photo you posted it's obvious which ones are the EG, not just because of the shape of the shoes (the EGs are much more curved and shapely) but because of...
• If you're going to spend that money I would go with Edward Green
• I know they’re other great shoe makers out there C&J, Edward Green, TLB etc but to me Carmina nails it with shoes.
• Having owned pairs from Edward Green, Carmina, and Allen Edmonds, I’d say these rival Edward Green in quality, just without the price.

Cons

• there are some exceptions like Edward Green that do 1/2 down but they list both US and UK sizing on their shoes
• Edward Green has never been an attractive brand for me, they are simply too expensive for what you get. Yes, the lasts are slightly more refined than C&J handgrade, yes the finish is nicer but they also cost twice as much.
• I have a variety of shoes and boots, ranging from Edward Green to Alden to Carmina to Viberg to Red Wing to Meermin to Asics.
• With dress shoes brands like Crockett and Jones, Edward Green, John Lobb, Alden, etc etc, is there an entry level and a end goal brand that is universal?
• why am I going to pay this when for only a bit more I can get _______? (Enzo Bonafe, or for a price jump, Edward Green).
