DxO

Pros

• Other than Darktable, if I were to pick a commercial package it would be DxO, it’s a complete package of all the usual photography tools and gives really good results.
• They're on by default for me in DXO and I prefer it that way.
• Highly recommend ANY of the many viable alternatives to Adobe products. Affinity, DXO, ON1, Corel's suite, The Gimp -Darktable.... there are TONS of fantastic options out there outside of the Adobe paradigm.

Cons

• I will be sticking with DXO after spending so much time with it, it's a bit of a cumbersome program out of the box, but you can set it up to be pretty personalized.
• Compare that to Capture One or Lightroom or DxO, which are stuck with the same old tone mapper they started with. And quite flawed ones, too, compared to Darktable.
• It is way less intuitive and automatic than others you mentioned but in return gives you really a lot of control. In the other hand learning curve is less steep than for Darktables. But if you consider playing with self scanned film, go...
• On top of that I want to name some one time payment options. Capture One, Luminar, DxO and if you want to switch out Photoshop, take a look at Affinity.
