Pros

• Look at all the drooling over DRC - biodynamic, wild ferment, no fining or filtering, and yes, no added sulphur.
• I've had the privilege of having several current/recent release DRC over the last several years and they have been absolutely incredible just as you've described.
• Even when DRC is going through a ‘dumb’ phase, it’s still mind blowing.
• If there’s a name that is somehow more coveted than DRC (outside of superb vintages of RC and LT), it’s Henri Jayer.
• Even wines like DRC are sold ex-cellar door (to the lucky people who have access) at relatively low prices, in the low hundreds for La Tache and ~1000 for RC

Cons

• Looks dingy to pull out a DRC or Petrus that's been cellared for decades and the label is all fucked up and moldy.
• People will never admit when DRC is average.
• Honestly? As someone that was able to taste them relatively often back when (think '90s-'10s), they are great wines and especially with some age but no where near as life-changing as they are made out to be.
• My budget doesnt stretch to DRC...and the further time goes on the less I buy as I find there's less and less value in red burg.
• While it’s nice to be able to shoot the shit with your customers about names like Latour, Yquem, Rayas, Leroy and DRC, those chats will have very little bearing on your day-to-day operations
