Pros
- From Below gave me some serious chills, and Dead of Winter was a fun ride. I personally had some annoyance with some of the wrap up, but I recommend to folks regardless.
- Was just about to say this! I just finished that book today, and it's the most isolatey wintery horror you could imagine, lol.
- Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates.
- Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates — a bunch of strangers get stuck in a bus on a mountain during a blizzard
- I quite enjoyed From Below and have heard good things about Dead of Winter. It's on my list.
Cons
- I’m not looking for human murder mystery like Dead of Winter.
- In Dead of Winter, she used “torch” instead of “flashlight” so many times I had to keep flipping back to make sure it was set in Colorado because I thought I was going crazy. That, and the complete absence of guns was totally unrealistic.
- I absolutely hated and DNF’d Dead Of Winter though.
- Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates?

I'd recommend From Below and Dead of Winter.
*Dead of Winter* by Brian Moreland. May be not outwardly Wendigo, but it's similar. Canadian wilderness, winter of 1878, isolated outpost. Gruesome, bloody, pretty scary.
