Crypt of the Moon Spider was super good, and it's really short. Some body horror. And it felt pretty fast paced!
Crypt of the Moon Spider (9/10 — I’ve got the sequel on my shelf and cannot wait to pick it up. Great, great atmosphere and conceit)
Ooh, Crypt of the Moon Spider. A cult that worships a giant spider; its set in an asylum on the moon. So odd, and so good (in my humble opinion)
Crypt of the Moon Spider by Nathan Ballingrud is incredible. Weird cosmic horror about an asylum on the moon.
if you want balls to wall pulp weirdness then CRYPT OF THE MOON SPIDER and CATHEDRAL OF THE DROWNED, the first two (short) books in his Lunar Gothic trilogy are absolutely wild.
Crypt of the Moon Spider by Nathan Balingrud - Super creepy novella with a weird gothic modern space horror? (I'm not super into gothic horror post classics but this works nicely)
I loved this novella. It's the horror/ fantasy / scifi mix i desperately crave and wish there were more of.
Parent context: Is it very gross? Reply: I wouldn’t say very gross, but there’s definitely some body horror.
The amount of information packed into just a few pages is really what astounded me. It is some of the most efficient writing I’ve ever come across. Not a single wasted word. And the overall concept is so damn unique.
Totally blown away, like reading a nightmare.
