Corolla hybrid. Very simple planetary gearset hybrid system (simpler than any automatic or CVT) with an engine Toyota has been building since 2011. Parts are cheap and they’re easy to work on.
Corolla hybrid is your safest bet for long commute.
Camry if not the new yaris if not corolla hybrid if not sonata if not Altima.
