Children of Men

Children of Men did a fantastic job of showing us the backstory of that world through TV news, newspaper clippings and things happening behind the main character. Amazing world-building.

If so then I once caught The Grand Budapest Hotel, Silver Linings Playbook, and Children of Men back to back to back on a long haul flight.

It's my favourite film of all time and it really feels grounded and real to me because I live in the south east corner of the country that most of it takes place in.

The last two movies even had a plot (somewhat) similar to Children of Men.

It's so close to our reality that it's terrifying : even more today, than it was when released 20 years ago. And the cinematography is utter poetry. Bleak, awful poetry, but poetry nonetheless.

I love "Children of Men," but I almost feel like there should be a warning included with this movie. This movie is DARK. It is hopeful, but it plumbs some very dark places to get there. It is also pretty amazing from a technical POV.

Other good ones are; The Book of Eli, Children of Men, How it Ends.

Children of Men would be an excellent choice.

Children of Men - Its a must-watch because it’s tense, immersive, and emotionally powerful. The long, continuous shots pull you into a believable dystopia, while the story explores hope, survival, and humanity in a bleak world. It’s thrilling, thought-provoking, and stays with you long after the credits roll.
