  • I have never tried Thenx, but I recently started Calistree. I really like it. I could hace stayed on the free plan, but paid for premium because the developer answers all questions on their subreddit.
  • Really cool, I like the 3D human model. I also use Calistree which is the same idea of a skill tree but fully integrated in a workout app, together with other disciplines beside calisthenics.
  • Calistree - IMO the best app for people who don't like pre-built programs and just want to build their own program or like a lot of variety in their training.
  • I highly recommend giving it a try. Very complete, full of different programs you can follow/combine and you can customize all workouts. Is just less visual then Thenx but, apart from that, it’s much better IMO.

Cons

  • Calistree is really really impressive, and I'm definitely going to use it when I want to shop for new exercise ideas, but it doesn't have the recommended routine (I don't think?), and I haven't figured how to get it to stop suggesting me...

With Calistree, you create what they called "journeys", which are workout plans that the app designs for you. For example, each journey lets you choose up to three different objectives. Then you give it the amount of time you have, as well as equipment. It then he designs a plan. As you do the workouts, it slowly nudges you to improve (more reps, or a harder exercise). I love it because I don't have to think much.

Calistree is really really impressive, and I'm definitely going to use it when I want to shop for new exercise ideas, but it doesn't have the recommended routine (I don't think?), and I haven't figured how to get it to stop suggesting me exercises below my current progression.
