I just finished Boy's Life recently and man does he have a knack for telling a good story.
One of my favorite books of all time, along with Boy's Life also by McCammon.

Really like this genre and looking for more. I read It, Boy’s Life, Small Town Horror, and Summer of Night already.
Boy's Life alone has a ton of literary merit and is even required reading at different high schools, so make of that what you will.
McCammon is a writer I discovered in my late 20s, early 30s, and have officially fallen in love with, essentially, everything I've read of his so far ("Boy's Life" and "Swan Song" being my personal favourites).
If you haven't read them already, make sure to include Gone South and Boy's Life. They are top 3 along with Swan Song.
Boy's Life isn't horror but it's absolutely sublime.
