Bootstrap

Pros

• But to me it’s the best thing that came to webdev since Bootstrap and the deprecation of IE6.
• Bootstrap does NOT require a build step and can be used in a much wider variety of systems.
• I still use bootstrap because it is much easier and faster than other ui libraries. I’ve tried tailwind and others and the moment I get to making something like a modal I’m like shit I wish I was using bootstrap.
• I use a lightly customized version of Bootstrap for the SaaS I am building. I love it. The utilities have just the right level of functionality for me.
• So when u just need a ui fast bootstrap can actually get u going faster than tailwind.

Cons

• Ah, the joy of inheriting bootstrap projects where developers spent 4 years fighting against component styles.
• Bootstrap is getting to the point that jQuery was 10 years ago when we were asking “people still use that when there are much better tools?”
• Bootstrap has become this odd hybrid where it prescribes the look for some components but also has a mishmash of helper utility classes.
• 4 general ui component libraries: mui, antd, primereact and bootstrap. All of them are used, often on the same page, while normally our company only uses mui
• Once you’ve seen it somewhere and you see it somewhere else it looks strange. That was an issue at the time with bootsrap, everything looked similar
