Backblaze personal

Pros

• Spend $10/month on backblaze personal and back up both internal and external for that flat rate. The only catch is you need to keep the external plugged in or they will delete the backup if the drive hasn’t been seen in 30 days.
• DAS Pros: Cheaper You can use Backbkaze personal to back it up to the cloud.
• That's nothing... Backblaze Personal, sell / give the drives to a friend. Download on the other side to a new drive.
• If it’s important data, I’d recommend an HDD that fulfills your future needs for size of data. Then, another HDD to keep a copy. Then backblaze personal for unlimited cloud storage.
• Backblaze personal backs up everything for $10, while B2 is $5/TB for block storage and can be used by whatever backup solution of your choice.

Cons

• Backblaze personal would require you to plug the drive in once a month for that to be backed up. If you are duplicating the files between the two exactly 1 for 1, that isn't necessary. It's a flat price whether you're storing 100GB or 10...
• My data currently lives on a Linux server so no Backblaze personal unfortunately (unless there's some hack around this for Win/Mac like mounting - I have personal on my desktop).
• The release notes (and lots of posts in /r/backblaze) cover what you'll be in for when you do. I suspect people on that version will eventually be forced to upgrade (which service-wise is a downgrade), but I don't know when.
• Write that in past tense, as BB Personal plan has changed which drives can be selected for backup...
