AUM

I had the same question as OP, and landed on iPad + AUM. For me i figured it would just be so much more flexible and cheaper than buying individual hardware pedals/units plus cables etc. I'm still getting started w/ it but AUM is a one-time $20, and most auv3 plugins are free or less than $20.

AUM seems to be the app that ties it all together, but im just starting the learning curve.

Everything gets mixed in AUM on iPad with Eventide, Moog, Kymatica, Tonebooster, etc. VSTs as my FX sends, all done digitally. Incredibly cost/space-efficient.

That’s not even getting into AUM and all the wild and fun stuff you can do with that.

I have a first gen iPad pro hooked into my sound card, 16 channels in, with the camera connection kit and use AUM as a mixer.

Basically, the two apps I used are AUM and Koala sampler. ... Fire up AUM (it’s basically a virtual mixer with the ability to MIDI sync). AUM can also host most apps you download so you can use your own effect chains and buses.
