Pros

  • ARM chip, SUPER light, but very well built. OLED screen. Epic batterylife. Mediocre speakers, no touch screen.
  • I have the ASUS Zenbook A14. I can easily get multi day battery life for programming and web browsing, 16+ hrs of offline video playback at 70% brightness and upto 12 hours of video conferencing.
  • Great buy - at $600 (I saw that sale too) it's an unbelievably good deal. An OLED with good battery life and featherweight is a dream.
  • got the zenbook! thank u i love it🥹 snagged it for $600 on best buy a couple of weeks ago hehe
  • Parent context: Thanks this helped a lot Another question since this is for school and I might be browsing or using MS Word ect is it too slow??? Reply: Nahhh it should go smooth. I was mostly talking about if you want to game on Steam o...

Cons

  • If it had been either x64 or had a good keyboard, it would've pushed me over the top, but it had neither.
  • Asus Zenbook A14 is a gorgeous piece of kit, perfect form factor, size/weight. Gorgeous screen. Really disappointing keyboard, and questionable Snapdragon processor. Great price too (~$700).
  • Apparently, the Zenbook has similar (NoteBookCheck) or better (Rtings) battery life, while weighing 200g less than the macbook. However, I don't know if he would be able to tell the difference, and compatibility/performance wise, the Mac...
  • a few reviews online say that it has fan issues and the fans go at full speed unnecessarily
  • there's supposed to be a asus zenbook a14 releasing in march for 900, under 1kg (2.2lbs). ... but it is windows ARM whcih i don't know much about.

Apparently, the Zenbook has similar (NoteBookCheck) or better (Rtings) battery life, while weighing 200g less than the macbook. However, I don't know if he would be able to tell the difference, and compatibility/performance wise, the Macbook has a clear advantage. Also, the Zenbook has an OLED screen which looks gorgeous, but reflections are very distracting

I was mostly talking about if you want to game on Steam or something, then the games would feel sluggish. You'd probably need to open like 50+ tabs at the same time for you to notice any slow down

The Asus Zenbook A14 is mega light and sturdy and has long battery life, as well as an OLED screen. Runs around $800 at most retailers these days (on regular sale).
