Pros
- Amankila, Amandari, and Capella Ubud are all great options.
- Ubud: Capella’s tents by Bill Bensley, + Amankila for a jungle vibe & coastal views combo.
- I have not stayed at Jumeraih but kind of want to nudge you toward Amankila for the same reason, if budget allows.
- My favorite Amans are the ones in Asia and I’ve stayed at Amanpuri, Amanoi, Amankila but I also loved Amanjena in Morocco and Amanzoe in Greece
- Amankila still gets good reviews (never been myself)
Cons
- 3 nights doesnt work anywhere unless its a pass through property (like amandari or amankila)
- Amankila is a no go at the moment the construction is really loud at the moment I think.
- Amankila is in villa construction in parts and shutting down in october for a few months to complete ongoing works. I wouldnt go there until they reopen and reviews come in.
- I found it a bit worn and F&B pre-covid was meh. Views are great.
- Amanpulo is best around April whereas Amankila is better late August

Amankila is still a literally an architectural masterpiece IMO. It doesn't have that ultra-sleek Jean-Michel Gathy look, but it is iconic and has a real sense of place on the east coast of Bali.
Amankila is amazing. East Bali is super cool, way more rural and laid back.
