Alen

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Alen is positioned as a premium air purifier brand often associated with high build quality and a unique lifetime warranty. While many users praise their quiet operation and long-term reliability, recent feedback is polarized due to a reported filter redesign that some claim has significantly increased noise levels. The brand is frequently compared to other high-end names like Coway and IQAir but is often noted for having a higher price-to-performance ratio.
Pros
- Lifetime warranty available when using genuine Alen filters on a recommended schedule
- Generally recognized for quiet operation, especially on lower settings
- High build quality and aesthetic appeal compared to budget brands
- Long-lasting filters with subscription options for convenience
- Effective VOC filtration options with high carbon content in specific models
Cons
- High initial cost and expensive replacement filters; often described as overpriced
- Recent filter redesign (removing felt) has led to reports of significantly increased noise
- Warranty is strictly conditional on the continuous purchase of proprietary filters
- Performance is sometimes viewed as overhyped relative to cheaper competitors like Winix or Coway
Caveats
- The 'forever guarantee' requires either a filter subscription or proof of genuine filter purchases on a strict schedule
- Recent reports suggest older units may become much louder when using the newly redesigned replacement filters
Best for
- Users seeking a 'Buy It For Life' (BIFL) experience through a long-term warranty
- Large rooms or offices where build quality and aesthetics are a priority
- People who prefer a 'set it and forget it' filter subscription model
Avoid if
- You are looking for the best CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) per dollar
- You are sensitive to high-pitched or increased fan noise following recent filter changes
- You prefer using third-party or generic replacement filters

Coway, Winix or Alen are much better brands.
Check out Alen imo they’re gorgeous and very well made.
I went with Alen, they are more pricey upfront but have a lifetime warranty for as long as you buy genuine Alen filters. Super quiet and zero complaints.
Winix, Coway, Alen, and other brands better, as Shark is OK, but over-priced.
I would recommend other brands in general. (Winix, Levoit, Coway, Alen all good, assuming you get the proper size for your space.)
I own Alen’s so I don’t have a dog in this fight. ... Only Alen has a meaningful difference in warranties with thier lifetime warranty.
The difference is Alen is upfront with their calculations. Blueair (and Levoit) do no such calculations and actually claim to purify air in a 1500sqft room with a tiny unit.
for longevity Alens are some of the best, with a lifetime warranty, if you stay in filter replacement program. Although they don't move a huge amount of air, as you pay for the warranty, but much more affordable than Dyson.
Alens have lifetime warranty with filter replacement program.
I think the highest quality consumer-grade brands tend to be IQAir, Coway, Alen, and (probably) Smart Air.
